A camp for the true animal lover! This program is geared towards elementary aged children (age 5-12yrs). Each day campers will learn about a different species on the farm from Christina (retired Licensed Veterinary Technician). We will learn about goats, emus, horses, pigs, ducks, chickens, and pigeons hands on. Oh, and did I mention we will be learning all about horses (minus the riding)?! Then we will discover our native plant species, let our inner artist run free, and do what kids need most: playtime outdoors!
A typical day at camp can be expected to look like but may change based on group interest:
-Ice breaker game
-Barn lesson based on which species is picked by the kids that day (we will have a different hands on species lesson each day)
-barn free time to play/explore that area of the farm
-hand washing and snack
-craft that pertains to the species we studied that day
-free time in our play area
-group game
-lunch
-read aloud
-nature lesson
-free time
Free time on the Fancy Farm is magical, your kids wont want to go home!

Classes are designed for preschool aged children and their families that want to spend time learning from nature and our animal friends! A parent or guardian must stay with their child at all times and help guide them through the activities. Activity stations will be geared for our pre-k friends, (but all are welcome) this class is a great way to get outside and start exploring/learning!
Sessions take place on Thursdays from 10:30am-12:30. These sessions are just like our open farm days where families get to explore the farm and visit the animals, but with the addition of preschool appropriate activity stations to keep young minds engaged and having fun each week.
Sessions will take place rain or shine, so dress for the weather, be ready to get outside and move!
Sessions are $20/family or $60/month.
The Fancy Farm was excited to have the Fall City Forest School join us for the school year. But, as we know sometimes things do not always go according to plan. While their summer program was a blast our forest school, is unfortunately vacant. If you or someone you know is interested in leasing our forest school site send us an email to connect! What a great opportunity to help share natures wonders with next generations!
In the meantime, we will be hosting weekly "Come along with me classes on Thursdays from 10:30-12:30. Each week will have different activity stations, with exciting projects that your family can work on while you'r here in addition to our fabulous farm activities that you can find on a typical open farm day.
Im Christina, a former homeschool (pre covid!) mom of 4 who worked for a decade in the veterinary field as a Licensed Vet Tech. With a passion for helping animals in need and teaching children I combined the two to create "The Fancy Farm" where children and their families can first hand experience farm life and nature. Prior to working in the veterinary field, I was a preschool teacher at the YMCA early child hood development center. I grew up in the Snoqualmie valley in a large family that spent most of our free time exploring our natural world. I had a 12 year career as a girl scout and spent my teen years as a camp counselor, life guard, ski instructor, and rock climbing coach- teaching children has been a big part of my life! Currently, I enjoy studying animal behavior and applying my knowledge to help rehabilitate and train the rescues that the farm takes in. Thought we are no longer a formal non profit, I cant seem to stop helping animals in need. One of my favorite things about running the farm is watching the kids that come in nervous and scared leave happy and excited about their new animal friends that they met.I believe that the younger generations are capable of preserving our earths natural habitats and beauty and want to instill my love of nature into as many young lives as I can.
